Its distinctive style, often compared to Hendrix, he scored so important to the world of music, influencing a whole generation of musicians from a wide variety of styles, from Eric Clapton to Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

He approached the guitar thanks to his older brother, Jimmie, Fabulous Thunderbids future guitarist, who introduces him to listen to all the legends of the blues, Albert King and Otis Rush.

In 1979, Burton decided to leave to pursue a solo career and from that moment became a trio Double Trouble, Stevie Ray Vaughan with voice and guitar, Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon on bass drums.

His moment came when he met Mick Jagger, who manages to bring in 1982 at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
The performance was not a success, the public was not accustomed to the raw sound of this strange blues guitarist, but his art was noticed by David Bowie who decides to hire him for the recording of Let's Dance album and world tour following the album.

The tour begins Vaughan but left after a few days and fortunately for us back in Texas from Double Trouble, where, thanks to Jackson Brown manages to record her debut album Texas Flood.

E '1983 and Vaughan has 28 years, is at the top of his art: his solos are crystal clear and overwhelming and the mastery of the instrument is absolute. His voice
looks good and seems born for the blues, the success and enormous.

year later released Could not Stand the Weather, the second album where you feel the full influence of Hendrix and where your version of Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) is not the usual cover but it is a true masterpiece, one of quotes from this great musician.

In this period, the height of skill and reputation, Stevie also participates as a guest star album with other artists such as Johnny Copeland Texas Twister, James Gravity Brown, Marcia Ball Dress by Soulfull and one of his idols, Lonnie Mack Strike Like Lightning.

In 1986, the abuse of drugs and alcohols are down and his body during a tour in Germany was caught by the collapse and rushed to the hospital.

The fear is so great and Stevie will face a long period of detoxification, which have kept him away from the scene.

The return to the studio in 1989 coincides with the release of In Step Another great international success.
The album marks the transition to sound less rude and more harmonious.

In 1990 he collaborated with his brother Jimmie first album of Bob Dylan Under the Red and then in Family Style work that will be published posthumously and not acclaimed by critics and audiences.

In January of that year he participated in the MTV Unplugged recording an acoustic version (with a 12-string guitar) the songs Rude Mood, Pride And Joy, Testify and Life Without You (which stops after a few chords from the pressed public that is clamoring to repeat Testify).

This is one of the few records known as Stevie Strap on a guitar.

On August 27, 1990, tragedy: after taking part in a concert with Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and his brother Jimmie, boards a helicopter to return to his hotel in Chicago.

The aircraft crashed into a hill due to heavy fog and the likely inexperience of the pilot.
The three people on board, a collaborator with Eric Clapton, the pilot, and Stevie Ray Vaughan died in the accident

untimely death throws him a legend, but without irreparably music of one of its most vocal interpreters and sensitive.

After his death were published several other albums and compilations and one live album of unreleased studio, The Sky Is Crying in 1990, worthy of the past and famous for the incredible instrumental interpretation of Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix and the presence of the only acoustic song recorded in the studio and published officially, Life By The Drop.
