Health, first impressions
[NP: Sentenced - Mourn]
It 's a bit that I do not write, I had some' ups and downs, a lot of stuff that has been and coming, and I prefer to write fewer but better than starting to talk about my cabbage without concern for others.
Today I had my first real approach to health in Sweden.
Over the past 2 months I pretty much took everything from tonsillitis, intestinal virus, colds, bronchitis superpeso and now as well.
Eventually superpreoccupato, I waited for the end of fever and tried to get me to see a doctor.
First here is all grouped in medical centers, called Vårdcentralen. Vårdcentralen you call and they will make an appointment. And here lies the first hurdle: I call, but automated voice answers, clearly only in Swedish. I should seek help from a friend, I leave my number on the answering machine, I will be called.
In the meantime contact the 1177 (there is also the site 1177.se) which is a number that has given me a friend, and is used to ask anything about health. Is not the number for emergencies (that is the 112 in Europe), but serves as host. Finally info in English and I can talk to an operator, always in English! She explains that the
vårdcentralen closes at 16 but from 17 to 22 (in some, 23) are active Akuten, which are a cross between an emergency room and clinic. Do not get the ambulances, but you can go without making an appointment.
Meanwhile it is invoked even by my Vårdcentralen, which suggests that I go there all'Akuten because it does not take the prescription.
I introduce myself to all'Akuten Frölunda Torg (if you know what it is, is on the side where there Bokia, where there is a bus station, at the end of the building on the right), I take my numerino and sit . With me in the room, even equipped with toys for children, a family with a hyperactive child and a woman. The nurse calls me, and the first thing that happens after having explained my problem is ... pay the bill! 300kr (30 €) for the visit all'Akuten while 100kr (10 €) if I went to Vårdcentralen. Resolved
the formalities, I sit and call the doctor. By nell'ambulatorio, asks me what the problem is, it makes me think about what specific questions ("What do you think could be causing this?"), I visited a standard procedure (see the throat, ears, lungs with a stethoscope ) and then sends me in a second surgery to take tests infectious.
The first test is a blood test, not with the syringe, but rather puncturing the finger and drawing a little blood from there. The second is
the classic mouth swab down her throat.
The nurse who performed the test, seeing me very nervous (I have a phobia of needles and I thought I would do a blood test standard), was very nice and friendly, smiling and patient, and told me to wire and sign for both tests before running them.
In 5 minutes we had the results screen, already included in my online application form! I was just prescribed a cream for a rash I have on my head, so tomorrow I can go directly to any pharmacy with just my health card, and the pharmacist will not have to do is connect to my card and find my recipe: )
In conclusion, I was hesitant to start finding all these difficulties to understand this new medical system, and language problems were amplified all these problems. All'Akuten were all polite and professional, if anything, only flaw is that the time for patients is very little, and I got the impression that they rush to leave the place to the next. But he says the Vårdcentralen is not so ...
PS For the record, I'm fine, I have no infections, I just gotta get used to the Swedish viruses: /
